Confession 62

I am obsessed with Christmas.
I know everyone says that, but I seriously am. I've been blaring the Christmas music since Thanksgiving. I can't wait to see what Santa brought me this year. I've been an awful good girl this year!

Confession 61

I really love July 4th.
I love America, and I love birthdays so how could I not love America's birthday. I'm looking forward to watching the fireworks on the national mall today.

Confession 60

I really want a puppy.
I feel like having a puppy is one of those things that every sorority girl must do at some point in college. I want a Westie. I'd name him Neiman and he'd be adorable. He'd be my perfect accessory.

Confession 59

I love high wasted shorts.
I don't think there are many things cuter for summer than high wasted shorts with a tucked in tank. The look is sexy yet sophisticated. You can pair it with cute flat sandals or fun wedges depending on what look you want.

confession 58

I really hate bad weather.
I have a legitimate fear of bad weather. When it storms I simply want to crawl in bed and not come out from under the covers until it is sunny again. My heart goes out to all those affected by the recent onslaught of bad weather, tornadoes and flooding.

Confession 57

I love rootbeer floats.
They are so much better than coke floats or orange soda floats or whatever other types of floats they make. Rootbeer floats remind me of summer. They remind me of being little and going to the pool. They are yummy and sweet and refreshing. Unfortunately they are also laden with calories.

Confession 56

I can not wait to be in DC for the summer.
I am so lucky to have the opportunity to intern in our Nation's capitol this summer. I leave for DC in June and will be there until it is time for school to start back in August. I can't wait for life on The Hill.
PS I fully intend to meet my future husband while there. I hear the Hill is full of ex frat daddies.

Confession 55

I have always wanted to go to the Derby.
Seriously, this is on my bucket list. I feel like I was born to wear fabulous hats. I also have very good luck in picking a winner. Maybe I'll be so lucky as to go next year.

Confession 54

I've been drinking way too much this week.
Sunday = USA USA USA USA! I mean hello, how many times do you catch and kill OBL. Only once, so it needed to be celebrated.
Wednesday = date party! Seriously the most fun I've had a function all year.
Thursday = Cinco De Mayo!! I love, love, love this holiday. Burritos and margaritas for everyone
Today = Friday = the day of class of the semester!

Confession 53

I forgot my password.
Obvi I've been MIA for a LONG time. I wish I had a better excuse than I forgot my password. That really is terribly boring and unoriginal of me. So have no fear dear sweet readers, I'll be writing more frequently now. Or at least I should.

Confession 52

I really want bangs.
Like most girls my age I sported the blunt cut bangs in elementary school. Now in college, these bangs just aren't acceptable anymore. Despite this fact, I still really want them. I hope some one talks me out of them the next time I go get my hair cut.

Confession 51

I am deeply upset about the passing of Elizabeth Taylor.
I am a huge Elizabeth Taylor fan. I think this love comes from the fact that my grandfather always says I look like her. I think she is the definition of elegance and beauty. The world is a little less glamourous now.
Rest in Peace Elizabeth. You will be missed.

Confession 50

I really love birthdays.
It doesn't even have to be my birthday, actually I like my friends' birthdays more. I love birthday cake (cupcakes) and balloons. I just love that there is a day devoted to solely celebrating that someone is alive. I wish I knew someone with a birthday for each day of the year.

Confession 49

Baseball season is the best.
I just love baseball season! It is so laid back and relaxing to watch. There are no heels, dresses, or standing. There are just frat tshirts, oversized sunglasses, and sonic drinks. It is all about being there with friends and not so much about winning or losing. Its almost impossible to have a bad time at a home baseball game.

Confession 48

I love Valentine's Day!
I don't love it as much as Christmas or my birthday, but its way better than halloween and 4th of July. I always would get so excited in elementary school (and middle school and high school) about going and buying my Valentine's. I would carefully consider all the boxes until I found the perfect selection. I'm so upset I didn't buy any Valentines this year. I've simply been too busy to go find some. Maybe my teachers will have a heart and let us out of class early tomorrow and I can go buy some!

Confession 47

I love getting flowers.
One of the local florists sent our house the most beautiful flower arrangement today. They do this periodically in hopes that we'll use them for our next rush.  It had all different colored roses and daisies. The card said they were sending "sunshine and spring" into our sorority house. It was cheesy, but still sweet. You can't help but smile when you see them. We have them placed so its the first thing you see when you come in the door.

Confession 46

Sometimes having your own room isn't so fun.
This semester I live by myself in my sorority house. I moved from my double room upstairs to a single room downstairs, and I don't love it. While its nice having my own room and bathroom, sometimes I get lonely. Plus I hear everyone upstairs when they walk (or jump) around.

Confession 45

Being sick sucks.
I spent all day yesterday wrapped up in a blanket on my parent's bed sick. I had some type of nasty stomach bug, that thankfully only lasted about 24 hours. I watched 5 hours of Say Yes to the Dress and drank one Gatorade all day. It was miserable, but on the plus side I lost 3 pounds.

Confession 44

People who write acceptance speeches for awards are tacky.
It's okay to have practiced your speech, even advised. Its even okay to have a list of people you would want to thank, but people who get up on stage with a full speech are just tacky. Those people are saying "I think so highly of myself that I took the time to sit and write a witty/well thought out acceptance speech. I am so superior to everyone else who was nominated." That's just tacky and classless and has no place at awards shows.

Confession 43

I love watching pageants.
I've never been in a pageant myself, but I just love watching them. I never miss a Miss America. Its so much fun to sit and discus each girl with friends as we watch. Common topics of discussion are who's had plastic surgery (boob jobs mostly), who picked a terrible talent (half the singer can't carry a tune), and who's evening gown is just plain awful. And of course I'm always excited when I pick the winner.

Confession 42

I love Lilly Pulitzer.
I have loved LP for as long as I can remember. I grew up by the beach, so LP was standard wear. When I see a LP pattern I think smart, sophisticated, simple. It reminds me of sunshine and happy times.
Little Miss Can't Be Wrong who writes one of the precious blogs I follow, how I met your father is hosting a LP giveaway. She is giving a way the Under the stars clutch which I have been lusting after. Go check out her blog and enter her giveaway. Oh and don't forget to mention that I referred you!

Confession 41

There are some foods I can only eat at school.
There are a few restaurants that I have at home and at school. What I order from these at home I won't order when I'm at school. Its like I associate certain foods with school and certain ones with home and the two can't mix. Its not that they make them any different, I just can't eat them out of their location.

Confession 40

I never forget to floss.
Yes, I am that annoying person who always remembers to floss after brushing. When I was little the dentist told me my teeth would fall out if I ever forgot. Now I realize he was only kidding, but I still never forget. I have to buy new floss about every 2 months.

Confession 39

I love snow almost as much as I hate Auburn.
I hate Auburn more than all the other schools I hate combined; therefore, I really love snow.

Sunday, January 9, 2011

Confession 38

I think snow is one of the most beautiful things in the world.
I've only seen snow in person a few times in my life. Living in the South seeing snow is a special occurrence. I think of snow as one of God's miracles. Once I graduate college I want to live up north for a couple of years simply so I can see more snow.

Confession 37

I've been watching Sarah Palin's Alaska for the past 5 hours.
I wish this was a joke. I just absolutely love this show! It is so nice to see reality tv with real people. I love Sarah Palin as a person (I'm not so sure how I feel about her as a politician). She values her family. She can take a jab at herself. She's funny and real. Sarah Palin is my role model!

Confession 36

I still haven't written my Christmas thank you notes.
I am so embarrassed that I haven't finished these yet. I always write thank you notes within a week of receiving a gift. I plan to amend this little manners faux-pa ASAP.

Confession 35

I really miss my sisters.
I love my old friends from home, but nothing compares to my sisters at school. I miss being in the house and having them around 24/7. I miss being able to go down the hall to gossip.

Confession 34

2011 is going to be my year.
My resolution is to make this year all about me and what I want. I will not bend over backwards for people anymore, especially guys. I am not going to be scared or talked out of anything. When this year is over I'm going to be at my happiest and best.
